  • This video sounds and looks like a good idea, but it doesn't talk about the possible side effects of mining the moon. There is plenty of evidence out there that NASA has been hiding images of the moon showing flying ships and structures on it. The majority of us on earth only know what government has shared with us about the moon (very little negative information). All it takes is for them to make 1 big mistake on the moon to possible affect our current planet in a bad manner. I think if Elon Musk and the folks over at SpaceX skipped the moon, it was for a very important reason.

  • We need to build Mars,Moon and Titan bases now! with reusable rockets sending tons of equipament into the outer solar systems would be viable, Titan is so underated and people have so many misconceptions about it.... 1.5 bar harmless 95% nitrogen and 4.9% methane atmosphere (traces gases like hydrogen cyanide are in so low concentration thats not a problem), no need for pressure suit just isolation from the cold and oxygen mask (no risk of despressurasation, if there is a leak the only thing that can happens is a little waste of oxygen and can be almost unnoticible) , low levels of radiation (even lower than earth's), you can fly with wings atached to your body, jet engines are possible, hot air balloons, large amounts of water, protection from micrometeorites etc etc etc even the -180°C won't kill you instanly, much better a cold atmosphere than having none or almost none, rocket fuel is super easy to find, even some strange bbq maybe be possible using oxygen as fuel to burn the methane in the atmosphere its not exatly like earth, sure but what do you expect?? living on earth is like living inside our parents house or inside our mothers, everything is free and easy, and when we need to get out is super unconfortable but we get used to it and continue to live our lives.

  • Personally I think it would make more sense to get our own house in order before we start looking into space colonization. We cannot hope to support a moonbase if we have to deal with the issues of global warming. It's going to take a very long time, and a tremendous amount of money to create a fully fledged moonbase. Perhaps the initial part of the 2nd phase would not be too great of an investment. But getting to the point where we can mine for resources would be very expensive and time consuming. It certainly won't happen in our lifetime. There is also the issue of low moon gravity which could be detrimental to human health in the long run. I believe we would need some sort of centrifugal habitat to compensate for this. And one thing I have never understood is the logic behind creating another human colony in the event of a disaster. Even if the Earth suffered a global catastrophe, it would still be the most habitable place in the solar system by a large margin. Even a fully fledged moon habitat would be less hospital than a bunker on Earth.

    Bird UpBird UpVor 7 Tage
    • +Whistling Banshee Even with climate change the Earth will still be far more habitable than a barren moon with extremely low gravity, no atmosphere to protect against radiation and meteors, and lacking any form of life support. You don't need a spacesuit on Earth. You do need one anywhere else in the solar system. That ought to be enough proof that Earth will be the most habitable place in the solar system regardless of environmental change.

      Bird UpBird UpVor 4 Tage
    • +Bird Up its not going to stay that way for long? Theres water on the moon. Amd we can build habitable pods fairly easily. Whats easier? Trying get the entire planet to work together to reversr 100 years worth of pollution. Or have a few organisations move some people?

      Whistling BansheeWhistling BansheeVor 4 Tage
